History:

Govt. Model Science College was founded in 1999 and retains the freshness and energy of its youth. This college is the most prominent one among the government run educational institutes of the state.

Initially, it included about 50 students in Part-1 only at intermediate level for Pre-Engineering and Pre-Medical groups, but steadily added more students to both the groups and now has 1600.

For science students, well equipped science labs have been built where they avail themselves with up-to-date equipment for experimentation. The computer laboratory compromises of PC networks with a range of printers and scanners. Computer lab supporting staff provides expert advice to users facing any trouble. To keep pace with the present-day scenario, Internet facility is also available in the college and a Central Library enables students to get access to the books almost on every subject. Security is ensured for all students. For this purpose, CCTV cameras have been installed within the premises.

College Campus:

The college continues to provide comprehensive education for girls and boys in a comfortable environment maintaining an equal number of girls and boys in each year level. Boys and girls have separate study campuses, ground and cafeteria. There are two separate blocks with separate Bio, Physics, Chemistry and Computer labs for boys and girls.

Outlook:

The college continues to encourage a broader and dynamic perspective for its students through diverse educational and co-curricular programs that include debates, oratories, writing activities etc. at inter college and national level. Our internal test system makes students familiar with the examination and helps them do well in the board examinations. For the encouragement of those who get distinction in AJKBISE, the Institute offers cash prizes and Shields. Parents and students need to be kept in the loop and notified at all times. For that SMS notifications / Results are sent well in time.

Milestone:

Summer Camp/Pre-F.Sc Coaching Classes:

To meet the challenges of the present-day life, summer classes (Pre-F.Sc) have also been launched for which services of renowned and familiar faculty are achieved.

Shift II:

The college has taken an initiative of launching shift II classes for boys and girls to accommodate as many students as possible on merit.

The college evening classes are based on self-finance scheme according to Govt. notification where competent visiting faculty is providing services to enhance the quality and standard of education.
